deucalion drives and deucalion targets¶
drives: the drives plugged in¶
Lists every drive plugged into the computer, except the disk your system runs from (it is never listed), with its parts, their format, size, where they are mounted, and tags: encrypted, or Deucalion backup when a part holds a backup.
$ deucalion drives --help
usage: deucalion drives [-h]
list connected drives
options:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
Example, with the drive prepared in Your first backup and an empty second drive:
$ deucalion drives
/dev/sda USB Drive 8.0 GB (external, usb)
/dev/sda1 “Alex Backup” exfat 2.0 GB /media/alex/Alex Backup1
/dev/mapper/deucalion-c1456ac47a07 “Alex Backup” exfat 6.0 GB /media/alex/Alex Backup [encrypted, Deucalion backup]
/dev/sdb Spare Drive 32.0 GB (external, usb)
no filesystems (empty or unformatted)
/dev/sdais the drive;/dev/sda1its normal part;/dev/mapper/deucalion-…the unlocked encrypted part (VeraCrypt).- "external" means a USB (or other removable) drive; "internal" a second disk inside the computer.
If no drive is found: "No external drives found. (Your system disk is never listed.)"
targets: your backup drives¶
Lists the drives registered for backups: name, (default) for the default one, whether it is connected, where its backup folder is, and its id.
$ deucalion targets --help
usage: deucalion targets [-h]
list registered backup drives
options:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
$ deucalion targets
Alex Backup (default) connected
/media/alex/Alex Backup/Deucalion-Backup
id f7721c0e-a587-44de-a199-2d74f9c20b4e
If none is registered: "No backup drives registered. Use: deucalion register <drive folder>".
To make another drive the default, register its backup folder again with --default (see
register). To stop using a drive, use Forget on the
app's Drives page, or remove it from the configuration file.
